When you're in a long-distance relationship 2,000 miles apart two months can feel like an eternity. All the little moments in between visits build up to one special moment when you finally get to be together again. That's exactly how we felt leading up to this past weekend, and boy, was it worth the wait.
One of the highlights of our weekend together was a collaboration that we had really been looking forward to. On Saturday, we had the privilege of working together on a maternity shoot for my older sister and brother-in-law. As some of you may know Neh is a photographer and I (Bre) am an MUA so got to work together on this shoot. While we had discussed collaborating on future projects, it felt like a dream come true to combine our two worlds and assist each other where needed. We bonded over the sentiment and joy we shared during the shoot, and it was extra special since it was for my family. The results? One of the best parts of our weekend was Neh's first-time visit to San Diego. We had an appointment in San Diego that added an extra layer of excitement to our trip. I went for a fitting for my wedding dress, and having both our moms there made the experience even more special. We had the boys leave the boutique so that they wouldn’t see me in the dress. It was such a specials moment for me because it was a glimpse into our future and reminded me how much closer the wedding is getting. After getting the measurements taken our families got brunch at Monarch Ocean Pub. The food, drinks, scenery, and vibes were nothing short of perfection—10/10!
Being that we have some people who really are enjoying following our journey as a couple we knew it was only right that we recorded some content for my YouTube channel. To strike a balance between personal time and content creation, we planned ahead and allocated specific times for creating content. This approach helped us keep our quality time and content time separate, making that we made the most of our limited hours together. One of the content ideas we had was the Whisper Challenge. Neh's natural humor and competitive spirit really shone through and even though he barely beat me, it was the laughter and connection we shared that truly mattered. [Edit from Neh: I washed her 5-3]. What makes the whisper challenge video even funnier is that it wasn’t until we finished the game that we realized the camera AND the microphone died mid video. So we don’t really have any content from the whisper challenge but we had a LOT of fun recording it. It's a reminder that the journey is as important as the destination!
Creating content together has become a real bond strengthening part of our relationship. Whether we're recording videos for YouTube or TikTok, each video we record seems to bring us even closer. It's more than just creating content; it's about learning and teaching each other new things, improving our communication, and deepening our connection.
In the end, our short weekend together was a smorgasbord of love, laughter, memories. We cherish every moment we have together and I’m looking forward to the day where this is just our lives instead of just moments of it. For now, we'll hold onto the memories we made during those precious 40 hours and count down the days until the next trip. Long-distance love may have its challenges, but moments like these make it all worth it.
